Does anyone know where this can be bought, or even better if Cloud is still around?
Regarding the latter I think the answer is no. Tried to email him last year (when I was living in Hong Kong) to no aval. I'm very interested in getting my hands on that book, but the only sellers I've found is a sketchy Amazon seller (only one rating, one star) plus a German shop that wants £89 for it.
Any ideas? (New or used, doesn't matter.)
And are there any other good books dealing with the same subject available in English? My Chinese is still way too basic...

You can also find him somewhat active on this forum.

Re: Cloud's "First Step to Chinese Puerh Tea"
Thanks!
Would have opted for the TEAroma page, but I am not able to check out (only taken to a page that recommends I buy a puer-cake, no option to proceed further). Also, the registration page is apparently closed, maybe they've (temporarily or permanently) stopped doing business?
The Malaysian site seems to work, although shipping to Norway looks very expensive (not surprisingly)
But again thanks for digging these sites up for me

Re: Cloud's "First Step to Chinese Puerh Tea"
Just for your info, I ordered a few issues of Art of Tea from Ning Jing tea Art, the shipping for 2 issues of Art of tea was around 13 eur (60 MYR) to Slovakia, so the shipping costs for the book could be similar.
Re: Cloud's "First Step to Chinese Puerh Tea"
I sent a mail asking about the cheapest available shipping. The one that automatically showed up was at almost 400 MYR

Re: Cloud's "First Step to Chinese Puerh Tea"
For what it's worth the book is mostly about older teas, especially teas that are completely unobtainable in the West. It doesn't tell you much of anything about how to choose a new tea for aging, which is what most people want to know.
So.... don't expect too much

Re: Cloud's "First Step to Chinese Puerh Tea"
Yeah, that's pretty much what I though. I'm mostly buying it for the pictures, though, but I won't spend a fortune (or anything that could buy me a half-decent cake) to obtain it.
Re: Cloud's "First Step to Chinese Puerh Tea"
MarshalN is right. But, there is a lot of history and explanation about puerh in general that many people would probably like to know. I have both of his books and never use them. They are almost irrelevant in today's market.Balthazar wrote:Yeah, that's pretty much what I though. Is this available in an English version? I am guessing the version in these links is in Chinese?Balthazar wrote:Does anyone know where this can be bought, or even better if Cloud is still around?

Re: Cloud's "First Step to Chinese Puerh Tea"
Hi tea brothers!
I have two completely unused copies of Cloud's Puerh bibles for sale:
1. First Step to Chinese Puerh Tea - 290 pages
2. A Glossary of Chinese Puerh Tea - 208 pages
Besides the nice pictures of Puerh cakes they have interesting text as well.
I would ask 50 € for each.
Balthazar, if you're interested, postage to Norway is about 5-10 € only.

Re: Cloud's "First Step to Chinese Puerh Tea"
Thanks for the offer, I'm still discouraged by the price though
. Good luck, you may be able to find an interested buyer in the "TeaSwap" section.
