Yixing decorations

by bonescwa » Apr 1st, '14, 20:05

I am interested in the history of yixing tea pets, is there any information about this? I.e. When they began to be made, how long they have been incorporated into Chinese tea culture, unusual yixing tea pets, etc... anybody have any to show off?

That didn't have much info on the history. I mainly want to know if it's a recent development or not.

My tea pet is a tiny frog sitting on a snail shell. He squirts water too :)

Thanks for the info. I'm wondering if anyone has some photos of some antique examples, can't find them.
