Dayi prices correcting to market forces?

by quikstep » May 6th, '14, 10:56

Hello all,

Since Chinese New Year, the prices has been dropping steadily across the board. Most Dayi plunged 10% in their selling price. Over-rated products like the 2014 Horse cake has plunged even more. This happens to tea less than 3 years old mostly.

One theory to explain the price drops is due to China property market bursting:http://money.cnn.com/2014/05/06/news/ec ... ty-nomura/. Those who visited Yunnan recently (not buying up gushu stuffs), any feedback/views?

Maybe if Dayi prices plunge even more Yunnan Sourcing will buy some of the 2014 teas. Scott told me he's not carrying them because of the price tag.

It's happened before in 2007. The Chinese new year caks are stupid expensive for the quality. It was going to burst sooner or later
