I know there are at least a few of us out there. Granted I started with the Tea loving and the running has been a somewhat recent development. Feel free to step forward and identify yourself, and lets make this a topic to discuss running in general, and how to work tea into a runners schedule.
I know for one, my tea drinking has taken a major hit since I started spending numerous hours right after work, or on the weekends running that were previously spent drinking tea. I am trying to find room for it however. I am also in the process of group by group introducing some of my friends I've met through running to the world of tea as we know it here on Tea Chat.
My little running back story: I was a pretty good sprinter in high school having a PR 400m dash my freshman year of 55 seconds. Then I put on a lot of weight, so for all reasonable purposes I was basically a brand new runner when I started trying to get serious about it again a little over a year ago. I found a running group in the area, having just completed my first 5K without walking at all during it the day before my first run early last October. (Not sure I could have broken 30 minutes on that 5k.) Well fast forward to today, and in the month of May I have run a 1:38:06 Half Marathon (7:29 pace). Just completed Week 1 of Marathon training, and as an extra curricular run this morning I broke the 20 minute mark for a 5K -- 19:38 (6:20 pace).
While I fully get my improvement is very quick and not to be expected, it came at a great price, a lot of workouts including several days a week of 2 a day, some days I even would get in 3 a day. It also came from running through one of the worst Michigan winters in the last 100 years.

Re: Tea Loving Runners!
Bit late to this topic but hey, better late than never right?
I'm hoping to start running again very soon (this week) after a LONG time of doing NO exercise at all..
I used to be in the Navy for a short time but I was a submariner so my physical activity was still pretty low even then!
I then had a lumbar and thoracic spinal fusion about 4 years ago so my fitness since then has been pretty much zero..
BUT!.. I've gotten the OK to start doing weight training again (no weight limit, so long as I stay away from deadlifts pretty much) and running! yay!
Running has ALWAYS been a challenge for me, I think I need to work on my form though as I get pretty bad shin pain. Or maybe it's just my body screaming because I've done nothing for so long!
Did you find you had to modify your diet much with your running, Adam? I'm normally a person who will skip a meal or two a day depending on how busy I am but I guess if I'm going to start running again I'll need to make sure I get some proper energy beforehand.
So how's it all going with your running?
I'll try and post updates here myself, it'd be a good motivator to share my progress with my teafriends!

I wish you well! If you can find a support group it will make it all much easier, at least that is what I have learned.
About my diet, that's a tough question I actually lately have realized I really did need to start modifying my diet, but that's because I am apparently a freak of nature that doesn't like Carbs. I wasn't intentionally doing a low carb diet, I just typically did not carry a lot of carb heavy foods, or really order them if I was out either. As carbs are the main bodies fuel for running after training intensively for my marathon I often ran into issues feeling far worse than I should (now there are other medical issues at play there as well, but carbs may have been part.)
My running is going great! First full marathon is less than a week away! Hopefully by the middle of the day on Sunday September 21st I will be able to call myself a Marathoner!
