Oh man, this is the kind of stuff I'm bound to do after awhile because I can be quite the cluttered person. Sorry to hear about your loss, debunix. I guess this is an excuse... to go buy more! Quite interesting to see the staining. Kind of makes me want to run to brush my teeth.

Breakage of ceramics is part of the normal 'Circle of Life'....... it happens. Not nice... but it happens.
If it was really a special piece to you there is always kintsugi.
