Legend of Tea

by Puerlife » Aug 20th, '14, 23:46

This is a Malaysian tea company that has it's own land in Yunnan. They produce eight new shengs every year and they do the rough processing themselves for five of them because the leaves are picked close enough to their factory in Hekai (about 90 minutes away I think they said). I don't understand a word of this video but when I met them in June at the KL expo they spoke fluent English, especially the girl with short hair, and patiently answered all of my questions. I tried one of their new shengs but it was only two months old and simply not ready, and a few steps away I'd been drinking truly memorable aged sheng all week. But another customer kindly gave me a cup of his tea which was from spring 2013 and it was wonderful. It's not cheap because it's high quality new sheng produced by a company that's obviously passionate about their products, so I think they are worthy of mention here. They told me they are working on their website to sell online in Malaysia and someday internationally. That would be nice, but still leaves a void in the market for someone based in Malaysia who sells aged tea. I've haven't dealt with EoT yet, but here's hoping they fill that niche because there is a lot of good semi=aged puer there for very interesting prices (if you know how to wade through all the fakes and other garbage lol). Anyway, I told the lovely ladies I'd post something about their company and now I have. Enjoy the vid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0WyqWKvrug
And if you understand what they're saying I'd greatly appreciate a quick gloss, especially when they're processing the tea and later looking at the trunk of a tree. :)

Legend of Tea is a company established in1993 and based in Ipoh, Perak,Malaysia. If it is the same group it would be nice given their long history. I will be in that area in northern Perak and Penang for 1-2 weeks next month to meet up some tea groups and will check them out. Will share more info.

Will also be in Kuala Lumpur for a few days on a separate trip to sniff and taste tea around.

Cheers! :D

I don't see anything about Legend of Tea on TU's website, but they do sell some cakes by a small label based in Mengku called Legend of Puer.

Ahhhh.... I am sure you will have enough energy. In between those hobbies that is where the tea break comes in handy.

Cheers and have a good day my friend!

You are talking about Legend of Puerh which is owned by the sister of Bingdao Tea Refining Factory in Yunnan. Different company.
