Japanese Green Tea Sales

by tdell001 » Feb 25th, '15, 18:21

I have heard o-cha has a big sale on their tea for members around sincha season. I am curious whether other venders like Yuuki-cha or ippodo have a similar sale? In addition, what do these sales include (matcha, tea wears, ect.)?

I am interested because I would like to stock up on tea for the year at a low price. I would also like to get a bunch of decent matcha for a good deal and a pre-sincha sale might be a good time for this.

I have not heard whether O-Cha will have a clearance sale on 2014 sencha.

Zenhodo is now, last time I heard. So is maiko.

Do I have to have an account on maiko to recieve the sale?

Also, I really want to buy tea from Ippodo, but the shipping is currently deterring me. I will probaly buy matcha from this company in the future.

You don't need an account at Maiko. Click the sale link, add the items to your cart, provide the necessary info and then enjoy the tea.

What do you mean by subscribers? Do I just have to subscribe to their e-mail list or is it their monthly tea selection service?

I've had this and can confirm, it's an excellent value for the money. Rich, smooth, and lots of umami.

With the recent large increase by Ippodo in shipping costs, this is not as great a value as it once was.

Agree. I never ordered from Ippodo due to the high shipping fee.

Does anyone know if their NYC store raised it's prices due to their increased shipping policy?

I haven't been their in a while, but when they first opened it seemd the price was practically the same between buying in the store (at a slightly inflated cost + tax) vs. Purhasing online and paying for shipping.

chingwa,

Does New York have sales tax on food?

Most states don't tax food that one prepares at home & include tea as food.

Den's Tea has 10% off their organic tea now. (I like houjicha)
