New York Coffee and Tea Festival '15

by javi_sanchez » Mar 15th, '15, 15:52

Is anyone showing for the coffee and tea fare this year? I noticed that tickets for the fare last year sold out EXTREMELY quickly and this year not so fast. I assume it is due to the higher capacity of the new location. Also since it is not going to be in Manhattan probably not as many casual visitors?

I've been once a couple years and although didn't find awesome tea, I did make new frieinds! Btw I will be attending and I'll be wearing orange ;)

I've heard from a lot of people that they don't want to make the trek to Brooklyn. The funny thing is that it's not hard to get to at all. Part of that is most directions say to take the G, which sucks even on a good day. I've taken the L to Bedford Ave and just walked from there.

I'm looking forward to the two seminars that I'm taking, oxidized green teas on Saturday and black teas on Sunday. Not sure what I'm wearing but my avatar is my face so that makes it easier to spot me :P

Is the G that bad? The Bedford stop is about a mile away from expo center. I figured I can get off the 7 and get the G at 21st street and only take it for one stop.

All of my friends who live in Brooklyn tell me that it's the least dependable line (frequent stops and breaks, etc.). There are several tea spots nearby so it's a good excuse to go exploring. MatchaBar, Bellocq and Puerh Brooklyn are all nearby.
