Looking for an online source of Charcoal roasted Oolong

by Tea Fiend » Jun 29th, '15, 21:17

    Hello fellow tea drunkards,

Can anyone recommend where one can get "decent", "Charcoal" roasted Oolong teas online, such as medium to dark charcoal roasted Tieguanyins?

I've been looking for a long time for them, but haven't yet sank my money anywhere. I suspect alot of them are not charcoal roasted, or are roasted too dark.

    Thanks alot!

Taiwan Tea Crafts has some really nice baked oolongs--I especially like their family heritage charcoal fired oolong. http://www.taiwanteacrafts.com/shop/pro ... d-oolongs/

Last week Theresa of T Shop NYC prepared her gui fei (cui feng) roasted oolong. It was quite good and even. The tea seemed to be a good candidate for some aging. 2 ounces for $35.

She has a personal relationship with the farmers and selection of roasters. Nice to buy tea from people buying direct from the source.
