I'm currently residing in France and their shipping to Europe is just crazy ($134 with UPS? no thanks), so I'd need a third person to send it to me.
I'm interested in:
- 1 pound Dark Roast TGY
- 1/2 pound Imperial Pearl (or perhaps some other oxidized oolong such as the Oriental Beauty)
- 1/2 pound of the Aged Green Heart Oolong (i wanna try it because it is their "competition grade" tea
http://mountaintea.com/collections/competition-grade)
That is if someone would want to split with me.
i would be willing to re-mail it to you from chicago, IL, USA at-cost via USPS (US Postal Service -- this is different from the private courier UPS). i bet the cost to ship to me and then to France will be less than $134

, but beyond that, i have no idea what actual costs are.
also, i am interested in splitting stuff with you.
i am curious to try the 'Aged Green Heart Oolong, 2003', but there were a couple of posts in the last thread that give me pause:

I bought it recently. I've only had a chance to try it once, In my opinion it's a pretty bland tea and I wasn't able to get much flavor from it. Granted, I may not be using the right brewing parameters, especially because I usually brew aged oolong in a duanni pot. I'll stick some in a gaiwan and do a stress test and get back to you in a few.

Yeah, I'll stand by what I said. I'm brewing 6 g in a 100ml gaiwan at boiling right now. I've been letting it sit in a tin for a month, and it has had some improvement. But this is one of those teas that will please people who are after aroma but leaves nothing for people like me, who want a balanced taste and thick body. It smells awesome, but the liquor just seems kind of... thin. Of course, if you buy a lot you have more opportunities to experiment with brewing styles or re-roasting.
the description on mountaintea's site sounds pretty good though...
i am also interested in trying:
- oriental beauty
- medium roast TGY (it is listed in their 'competition grade' tea section while the dark roast TGY is not... also, the medium roast TGY is a little more expensive than the dark roast)
would you be interested in the following:
1/2 lb dark roast TGY
1/2 lb medium roast TGY
1/2 lb oriental beauty
optional: 1/2 lb aged green heart, if you wanted to try that as well?
as for the imperial pearl, the pound i'm ordering is spoken for, but i could send you some of it to try.
i will also ask mountain tea if they would be willing to sell an additional half pound of imperial pearl instead of a whole pound.
what do you think?
let me know what you'd like
