I've heard of shrinkage lines on ZhuNi pots and was searching one for photos online. Instead I found Taiwanese pots with such lines. For example this post shows wonderfully muscly pots:

Do the lines on ZhuNi pots look different? Are there ZhuNi pots that have lines like that? Looking at the pots on this thread:

The clay that seemed to have the most lines was the latest one. I've also seen a few examples of "faked" muscle lines. Thoughts?
Re: Teapot "Muscle Lines"
Rereading the above-linked posts it was suggested that the pots are Taiwanese commissioned zhuni pots. So are these lines typical of zhuni pots? Can I get these kinds of lines in a Taiwanese clay pot?

There's some discussion in

if you haven't read it already.
Some of the fakes are very obvious. Legit lao zhuni pots are going to be pretty expensive these days.

Re: Teapot "Muscle Lines"
many schools of thought. but the old/traditional zhuni collector may choose to avoid strong nor heavy muscling. another group of collector would just collect for shape.. some.. are ok with buried pots that has receded firing (material does not resemble zhuni anymore)... another will go for anything that is glassy, glossy, smoothjavi_sanchez wrote:I've heard of shrinkage lines on ZhuNi pots and was searching one for photos online. Re: Teapot "Muscle Lines"
Thanks all! I keep an eye out for more literature to read. It's tough when I don't have samples of clay to tough and see.
