Multiple Cakes Open vs. One

When you start chipping away at a cake does this have an impact on the tea's quality, including its energy, and taste? I don't mean immediately, but over time.

I'm asking because I'm wondering if it's a bad idea to dig into multiple cakes at once, because this will lead to multiple cakes, instead of just one, being stored away without its original shape.

+1 on redbaron's post. Dig in. Proper storage is the main thing to affect tea.
