I have inherited a few teapots but there are two that my grandmother used quite often. Just thought I would share
I do want my own though. As I want to preserve these just the way they were left. Also both are damaged and I think either my mom or grandma tried to glue them back together.

Depending on the glue used it won't be safe to use these. Of course chances are the glue is safe for your use, but better safe than sorry.

It's great that you have teapots from your grandma, just looking at them and having them there you can think of all the teas she made with them. Thanks for sharing!

Bullshit.
Nice pots Darth! Use them and enjoy the connection and tradition you share with your grandma!

Which parts were glued? Unless the glue is in a part of the pot that the tea makes contact with, it's a non-issue.

Well one is on the sprout one is on the lid. But I dont intend to use these anyways. They will be left just the way my grandma left them. I am not sure what tea's my grandma brewed in them. I personally prefer Oolong's. But I wanted my own teapot to develop a glow from my own use. Now if I can only find a reputable dealer to sell me a old Zhuni...

Cool pots. I wouldn't put much faith in US sellers and old zhuni pots. Just sayin'. Most are always modern zhuni (90s+) represented as 70s or earlier zhuni. But you can hunt antique shops and possibly find a bargain priced old zhuni pot.
Cheers!

+1 old zhuni is not that easy to find unless you develop authentication skills and are willing to spend in the ballpark of $800. As far as I know zhuni pots were not made in the '70s (the market was dominated by factory 1, and they only made hong ni pots). There are some zhuni pots made after the '80s but I don't have much experience with them. For oolongs a thin porcelain gaiwan works great, if you want a yixing you can look for a F1 hongni, some more recent pots are also very good but many are not so that requires more experience picking clays and ends up not being cheaper than F1 hongni.

Well im talking to a guy called Daniel Ho, he has a shop in Malaysia and said he could help me find a old Zhuni. Not sure if anyones heard of him. Im sure if ol' Kyarazen would chime in he could help me out. Another collector has refered me to him as well. But hes harder to get to than a AT&T customer support line.

That's awesome that you found a old zhuni in an antique store. In the US?

Do you mean this Daniel Ho?

I have seen this on his page:
https://www.facebook.com/daniel.ho.106/ ... 691&type=3 in my limited knowledge, these look unusual for 1970s shui ping... I don't remember 5 color SPs being made in the 1970s, and the shape/seal also seem a bit off for the period. But it might be just something that I do not know.
A lot of imitations of Qing zhuni were made after the '80s, so I recommend that you try to familiarize yourself with some examples of Qing zhuni and perhaps ask some advice here on the forum

Good luck!
