South Taiwan Earthquake...
I'm reading that this is pretty serious, despite the relatively low strength of M6.4-6.7, and that there are serious building collapses in Tainan City. This is where many tea vendors are based, and this is where much tea is stored, so there could be disruptions on tea orders to Taiwan. Therefore, as well as keeping Taiwanese safety in mind, be understanding of delays or cancellations.

That really does look terrible! Prayers for the people of Tainan. I believe ethan was just down there.
Bok is there now and is fine, if not a little shaken up (forgive the unintentional pun).

Yes, I'm fine, pretty bad shake though, the hardest I experienced so far. Our building had no problems, other we're not so lucky :/
To go back to the original poster, I do not think that it will inflict the tea trade at all. Most tea shops are in a totally different area. Apart from that most of them have no business with other countries except maybe China

The pancaked building images are horrifying. To bring the destruction home, the Los Angeles Times has been reporting about a certain class of building, of which there are more than a thousand in LA, built similarly to many of those that collapsed in Taiwan. Apparently a particular type of reinforced concrete building popular in the 60s and 70s is especially vulnerable to this kind of collapse, where older and newer buildings both may be sturdier. So even a not-very-severe quake, close enough to one of these concrete buildings, can drop them.
Thoughts & prayers with those struggling in the aftermath of this, and here's hoping more of those get reinforced or rebuilt before the next quake, here and elsewhere.
