New Look, Work in Progress...

We apologize for the recent hiatus as we've updated the appearance and functionality of TeaChat. This latter remains a work in progress, and we would be grateful to receive your comments on features that may not work as expected or may be tweaked to improve your experience. We'll gladly consider!

There is noticeable improvement to smart phone functionality. But there are some trade offs.

First thing I notice, the TeaChat icons up along the banner need some additions such as Welcome. Also at least one deletion, TEAWARE is actually under TEA & TEAWARE.

Also, on the teachat.com main page, birthdays appear like the old format, not updated.

If you look at posts, under the avatars, the "contact" is goofed up.

Post edit functions are absent. As well as mod edit functions.

The "contact" under avatars in all posts does not work ...

There is no "view new posts" either at the top nor in the body of the forum.

Also, looking at last posts on the main index page, there is absent information such as date. It is not for all, maybe half.

Gotta say, I definitely think that the grayish Helvetica Neue Light is less legible than the ol’ plain black Verdana…

Certainly glad that TeaChat is back, though.

In my case, the "work in progress" seems to be Mac-proof. I can't access TC at home on either Firefox or Safari; my office has a PC so I thought I'd give it a shot here. And it not only looks awful (reminds me of shades of funeral crêpe), it seems to have lost functionality as well. Why do people insist on fixing things that aren't broken?? I found the previous incarnation to be very user-friendly.

You might consider modifying the nginx config for a proper WWW redirect, so that non-WWW redirects to WWW
right now request to http://teachat.com gets you a 403 forward to http://ww1.teachat.com/index.php

what have you done! lol

ok, some more constructive comments (from a pc user), hopefully easy to fix:
- the font of posts is very hard to read: small and grey on purple (+ i dont like the purple background), almost as if one wasn't supposed to read the posts (what else then?)
- recent activity button is vitally needed
- there should be a reply button on the bottom of the page under the latest post,
- i don't see quoting button
- the post boxes are way too big: a short post still gets a big box. it means a lot of scrolling, harder to navigate through the thread. a bit more compact would be better
- when one replies to a post while citing it, it would be nice to be able to click on the citation to see the original post. it doesn't matter much when the post is just above, but if somebody reacts to an old post in a very long thread, then it would be nice to be able to do that (that would be a new function)
