Splendid ! I really love teapots with handles
How many teapots / gaïwans do you have ? Are they for collection only, or do you use them for tea ?

Re: An unusual NEW teapot with unusual mark
That first pot is interesting, but I would be a bit suspicious. There's something off about it, maybe because it's trying to emulate gong fu tea pot shape, but in an uncommon design, and not using yixing clay, I think.
The second pot looks like a factory 1 pot, maybe from the 80s? It looks big. Do you know what's the volume? Thanks for sharing!

Re: An unusual NEW teapot with unusual mark
I think in total more than 70 teapots ( many are mediocre) gaiwans probably 30*) I only used one modern teapot for drinking teaSenlin wrote: Splendid ! I really love teapots with handles![]()

Thank you for your kind words
I bought this teapot at a local antique and vintage fair , inside the pot as I remember there is a small piece of paper saying that it was bought in Nottingham in 1995
I am not at home hence I can only guess its volume, I think that it is about 60mls max

Re: An unusual NEW teapot with unusual mark
Second one looks interesting and may indeed be F1. First one looks like a really poor knockoff though. Cool design and all but probably no good at all for making tea

As a general rule I think we need more pictures of a pot to make these determinations; inside bottom & spout, inside lid, close up of clay, side views, top & bottom views. A standardized system would help over all. A yixing teachat group has a pretty good system; https://www.facebook.com/groups/teapot2/jayinhk wrote: Second one looks interesting and may indeed be F1. p.s. the 1st pot almost looks like for Japanese market. Very nice aesthetics. Banko like. Yes very much like a Banko back handle kyusu.

I like the second pot..
First pot is more like 'weird' than unusual...
