Impressed with Adagio, I made a large order. . .

Hello, I've been lurking for a bit on the internet tea scene, although I have found no reason to register anywhere, until Adagio. I did so today, specifically to make this post. I've spent a lot of time reading up on the multitude of teas available from Adagio, and I have to say, I am *thoroughly* impressed. Assuming the teas I receive are of high quality, I intend to be intensely pleased with my purchase.

While I feel that Adagio offers a commendable variety of Camellia Sinensis teas - probably something to satisfy someone no matter what variety they love - I can't help but be distraught at the "selection" of herbal teas available. Many of the herbal teas were simply fruit pieces, which is right in spirit, but lacking in practice. Spearmint and Chamomile are on the right track, but what if I want some ginger and cloves to add into my black tea to give it that nice spice? (this time I went with the "christmas" blend)

Although I know that many purists would not agree, to me, Tea is half C. Sinensis brews and half everything else. These herbal remedies comprise much of the total body health that I desire, and I would be very happy if I could access them through a company that is so well organized as Adagio is.

Although I was born in California, I am of Egyptian heritage and lived there for some years. Probably my favorite tea is Egyptian Licorice, which is quite common there. It has Licorice Root, Cinnamon Bark, Orange Peels, Ginger Root, Caramom Seed, Black Pepper, and Clove Buds in it and creates a wonderful tasting golden liquor with an aftertaste that is sweeter than any honey. I've always felt revitalized by this tea, and if the need dictated, would mix it with black tea as well. I am suprised that the herbal section offers nothing even close to this ancient tea (you're on the right track with foxtrot!!). There are very few blends of actual herbs, mostly fruit. The fruit seems nice, but it's not what I am in the herbal section for.

If you take one thing from this post, let it be known that I am impressed with Adagio, and would like to further contribute to your success by being provided with the opportunity to buy teas which contain:

Sarsaparilla Root
Cinnamon Bark
Licorice Root
Ginger Root
Burdock Root
Dandelion Root
Cardamom Seeds
Juniper Berry
Black Pepper
Cloves!!!!
Long Pepper Berry
Chinese Amur Cork Tree Bark
Japanese Honeysuckle Flowers
Forsythia Fruit
Gardenia Flower
Skullcap Root
Black Cohosh Root
Chinese Goldenthread
Rhubarb Root
Psyllium Seed

as well as the pedals and buds of many other wildflowers. I feel that there are untold health benefits in many of these plants, and to me that is part of the tea ritual.

Thanks for your attention and good luck in the future!

I can't believe I can't get a 'word up!' on Forsythia Fruit.

I'm with you on this one. Adagio's herbal section is severely lacking. They have the bare minimum. In the meantime, here's a site that you may enjoy visiting.

www.mountainroseherbs.com

I have purchased their Blossoms of Health tisane blend, and it's wonderful. They also carry Honeybush, which is delectably sweet and woodsy, much smoother than rooibos. Almost all of their products are certified organic, which lets me feel good about what I put into my cup. You can also buy the herbs themselves in bulk and mix your own tasty concoction.

Enjoy!

I absolutely love Adagio, but would certainly like to see some more herbal tea offerings, as well. Well said. :)

First, I love Adagio teas. I'm not a big tisane person. However, I live not far from Montana Tea and Spice (which does have a lot of tisanes and blends.) www.montanatea.com Not the prettiest site, but it may be a place you want to try.
