Hopefully one of the Asian-based teachatters will read your request and help you out. One is kyarazen. You can always send him a PM as I think he hasn't been posting lately.
Good luck!

Re: High end yixing
Though good pots, those are by far not the ultra high end. They are on the affordable cheap side. High end will maybe start at a few 1000 USD and not really available through Western facing vendors. Many of those are only auctioned and not even sold at fixed rate...

If you have a bottomless budget then I would definitely NOT buy anything online. You should be feeling and inspecting such items in person and getting them from places where someone you know can vouch for the vendor personally. In such circumstances you are not buying the item so much as you are buying the vendor. If you feel you do not know enough to make an informed purchase, then with no limit to your budget, pay for someone who has the knowledge and expertise required to ensure that you are not taken for a ride. One last thing, if you do find and purchase some of these ultra high-end articles, make sure you post pictures of them heredmeht184 wrote:No real budget in mind. Re: High end yixing
Hi Dipu,
there are very many fake teapots around. You can spend several thousand dollars on a dud. So I strongly advise to use a lot of caution.
How knowledgeable are you about Yixing? If you are really interested in getting a great teapot, the starting point is to study. First of all, if you don't study yixing teapots carefully, it is very likely that you will get a fake. Like a 95% chance. Second, it is difficult to appreciate the difference between a $500 pot and a $5000 pot if you don't have extensive training to recognize the subtleties of the pots. So spending $20k on a pot would be a huge waste.
All the best in your search!
Re: High end yixing
If I had that money (I'll have enough to burn and would have saved a lot too), I'd book a flight to KL, HK or Taipei, go visit tea houses, tea shops, make some friends with the locals and eventually someone will point you in the right direction: hook you up with to the right vendor who'd be able to sell you a 60s zhuni pot; its high end already and a collector's pot in its own right. 2-3 grand tops. If you have that cash why settle for one pot bearing in mind what I just said?
Re: High end yixing
Sound advice from Bagua7.
Educate yourself about Yixing, so you know what and why you are doing it. As of now I do not know why you would even spend 20k on a teapot, you clearly have no idea what you are talking about at this point in time.
At the moment it seems you have more money than sense… if we are not all feeding the troll after all

Re: RE: High end yixing
The best pots are in museums by master craftsmen. Pretty much your looking for a master craftsman that fits your type of style. Or a person to broker the deal for you.dmeht184 wrote:Hi i am looking for ultra high end handmade yixing pots. Can anyone help me find a good source to buy.

To be honest, you probably have to travel to China and hire someone. They will help locate some craftsmen with a portfolio you like, or pick up. You also want someone to be able to authenticate the clay.
Almost all high and ultra high end pots and tea will never leave the country.
I don't trust anything on the internet and most vendors. I've been told most things are fakes, low quality, and there is no authentication process.

Re: High end yixing
This seller is from Yixing, sells high quality teapots. https://www.ebay.com/str/missteapots
As I know, a just-barely-okay full handmade teapot costs at least $100, There is no need to deliberately pursue. Half handmade teapots are also good choice to make tea for beginners.

Lukevecent is an eBay seller that has been recommended here many times before. I use several of his pots.
An I like (and use) the pots by oldzisha (formerly known as 5000friend)...despite the naysayers.
