Between two Chaozhou teapots

by Griselbrand » Oct 16th, '18, 20:38

Hi all,

This is my first post so let me know if this is the wrong place for this. I am looking to get my first Chaozhou teapot. I have tried Jianshui from CLT and an entry level zini Yixing from Teavivre and now I want to see how Chaozhou clay brews. I brew mostly young sheng (<5 years old) and darker oolong (yancha & dan cong). Whichever teapot I get, I'll try each type of tea in it and choose the pairing I like best. Here are the two teapots I am choosing between:

https://www.bitterleafteas.com/shop/tea ... low-teapot

(I would get the da hong pao clay for this one)

Shape isn't a huge concern for me, I just want to make sure I get good quality clay. Anyone have experience with chaozhou clay from these two vendors? Is it good quality clay? How does it compare to other vendors?
Does one of these teapots seem significantly better than the other? Also if you have recommendations for other places to get quality chaozhou teapots online, let me know. I am not super experienced with clay teapots so I'm looking for any and all advice you have for my situation :D thanks!
