Old teapot

by aile » May 30th, '19, 19:29

Hi,
This teapot was passed to me from my father, who said he has kept it for a long time, since the 70s or 60s. I have no idea about the characters on the pot.

I am updating some information. I talked to a friend today who speaks Cantonese as her native language. She said the inscription is old Chinese. More pictures. Hope some experts in this forum can shine some light.

As the wording carved is oracle characters . 甲骨文, 金文,sometimes it illustrates with poems ,yes, if you could have photos with the full scenes of those carving, maybe I could find out what is it say.

If i am not mistaken this kind of ornamented pots were not made during the 60-70s only before and afterwards. So yours is more likely 80s.

Carving seems uncharacteristic of F1 but looks 80’s so maybe F2 or possibly private factory from 80-90’s.
