So how can you know can you trust her? You can not I guess.
You would need to have a big knowledge of different studios, yixing artists and then you could ask the artists or studios if this specific tea pot from their studio is officially sold by this seller.
Any guarantees and certificates printed on paper are worthless as they could even be copies or made out of the blue.
In China they would probably check that seller out, but internationally there would just be the local customs of your country to check the authenticity if they have an interest in it for any reason.
Buy from an internationally community trusted and tested source for yixing pots.

I just bought a xishi yixing yesterday from lukevecent who has a great reputation around here. He was super helpful. Will let you all know about my piece in particular when I get it in the mail.
Also on eBay, I have been combing through oldizisha's listings. I see some people around here vouch for him/her/them, while a similar number warning to stay away. I can't figure out what the deal is. Also looking at missteapots'. Wondering if it's really true they are both based in Yixing. Does anybody know?
Btw, I am one of those who would be more than happy to get her hands on a couple very basic half hand-made modern pots as long as the quality of the clay is high. The simpler, the better, actually. Love the xishi, dragon egg, wendan, eggplant, shuiping and (tall shipiao) shapes. I want them for brewing, not for collecting, really, and so my priority is not to ingest toxic chemicals.
