January 30th communiTEA Discussion

by Bridgette » Jan 30th, '20, 00:00

Hello communiTEA drinkers,

In our cups today is: Pu Erh Hazelberry.

The earthy smoothness of Pu Erh creates a warm foundation for the rich flavor of hazelnut while playful, tangy-sweet strawberries peek through the nutty opulence. A hint of cream adds a soft, dreamy note to the blend.

What do you think?

First: I wish there were 3 choices here: “Loved it.” “Hated it.” or “It was OK/good.”
Second: my first impression on opening the bag and getting a whiff was, warmth! If warm has an scent, this tea in the bag is it! Must be the earthiness of the Pu-erh.
Third: I was prepared to NOT like this tea because I’m not a big fan of hazelnut.
Fourth: I actually do like this tea. The blend is very smooth, yes, I taste the nuttiness, then the tangy sweet strawberry sneaks up on me. An overall smoothness to the blend. I’ve had Pu-erh tea before, haven’t been impressed, but this tea is changing my mind.
Overall, I didn’t LOVE this tea, but I also didn’t HATE it. I like this tea, might purchase it some time.

This feels like a nice, sleepy, weekend morning type of tea. The smell is delicious and the tea is pretty good. I feel like this one is about the experience of holding a warm mug and smelling hazelnut and strawberries.

I drink the puh er hazelberry often (one of my favorites!) so decided to do something different and combined today’s with chorange for a puh er straw/orange/choc/nut mix. I probably won’t do this again but it was fun!
