Newbie here. Looking for a strong tea. Recommendations?

by Chaichai » Oct 23rd, '20, 07:44

Hi. I am looking for a tea with a strong flavor, really robust. I do NOT like coffee but am wanting a tea that I can use in place of a strong coffee like espresso. I am not wanting a tea that tastes like coffee though. Thanks in advance.

Try one of the below:
  • Ripe Pu erh
  • Dark Oolong
You can't really go wrong with ripe pu erh, but avoid ones made from small leaf/bud ones, and go for stronger pile-fermente ripes (which tend to be larger leaf ones). It doesn't have to be expensive.

For dark oolong you can go for Wuyi Rock Teas or Dancong oolongs. Go for at least 'medium roast'. Teasenz' wuyi rock tea sampler pack is a good starting point.
