Where can I find a mid-range quality tetsubin for around USD $90

by falafelwaffle » Mar 8th, '21, 10:36

As much as I would love a beautiful kunzan, as a working student, I just can't see myself spending $300-$500 on a tetsubin. I realize that quality comes with a price, so I'm willing to spend a fair amount. Does anyone know about a good quality tetsubin that falls around the $90-$120 range? I'm not looking for the best of the best, but something of good quality. Pardon the knife metaphor, but sort of the Tojiro DP of cast iron kettles?

I appreciate your thoughts.

Your best bet is probably Amazon.co.jp (as discussed here). Go with a well known brand such as Oigen or Iwachu (safest way to reduce chances of getting something "fake", i.e. of non-Japanese origin)
