Searching for something like Brooke Bond D

by Dtea » Feb 16th 22 6:20 am

Hello there!

I appreciate a beautifully brewed loose leaf tea, but for me there's nothing more comforting than the UK staple, a black tea teabag. The one that hit the spot was Brooke Bond D (then just D tea). Its been out of production for years and I haven't found something as smooth and refreshing since. Dorset tea and Yorkshire Red are headed in the right direction. I'm not PG tips person, I find the USA Tetley British blend unpleasant, and I could list a bunch of UK and USA tea fails in the quest to find a D substitute.

So kind folk, have you any recommendations for the elusive smooth comfort cuppa, with milk, of course!

It's hard to find exactly the same, but I would recommend to look up the ingredients of the original Brook Bond D tea, and then compare it to the alternative brands. Tea in tea bags are often scented with other ingredients.
