Hey all- we're planning to go wider with this teachat.com page- for an example check out the new teachef.com. Nothing will really be changed, nothing drastic, but if anyone had any new options they would like to see on teachat or any other suggestions- post here! Might as well ask the vets and diehards, right?

The wider style of TeaChef looks really nice. I love that new layout, the feature of your new TeaCasts, and the TeaChef 'classics.' I did have to make my browser window larger to accommodate it, which wasn't a big problem--though I do like working with smaller windows. It was hopeless on my (ancient) computer at work, though...but most things are for that one.
So...I like! I think the general style would do well in TeaChat too.

I like all the ideas Mary and Fatal/Rage have mentioned. I guess I would have some concerns about the wider layout as some people still use 800x600 resolution, but it's probably not that big a deal. I have a couple other trival suggestions too:
More smileys!
An "online users" section on the main chat room page.
I can't think of anything else at the moment. Any idea when the layout will change (or will it be a surprise)?

You might be able to allow the user to select the template they wish for the site. I've seen forums that have different versions of the same template, each optimized for different resolutions. Having one suitable for mobiles would be great, too
On my main system, though, I run 1680x1050, so the wider template would be much appreciated.

...coooool...soon we can see larger nude pics...cannot wait.
The new formats look great on TeaChef and also (?)TeaMuse
Yeah...larger avatars. 100X100 pixels is used on some forums, but with the new format, you could even go a little larger, but I would not go larger than 120X120, or Rage may use his soylent green pic again.
I still miss seeing the last poster and last post date info from the main page. When that was removed earlier, I almost walked away from teachat because I missed it so much. I still miss this feature a lot.

I second the notion. Although I've not been around long enough to miss it from this forum, I do very much miss having that feature from about every other forum I've visited. As insignificant as it may seem, it's a very useful feature that I rely on more than the 'new post' notification.I still miss seeing the last poster and last post date info from the main page. Although...if you saw mocha psycho b#%&h was the poster, you would not even have to look. That would be a good thing.spacesamurai wrote:I started a few weeks before it changed, and I guess I'm the only one who doesn't see what the big deal is. I think the new way gives the forum a cleaner, less busy look.

Oh, you don't have to censor yourself here: Mocha. Psycho. *BOO*.
And yes, Mocha was my very first thought with "You can see who posted!" She's been better lately, though...I'm not so twitchy.

Yes, she has chilled out a bit. She is actually tolerable, but you never know when she will have another 40 post day.
