U.S. Customs

How many of you guys recieve teas from overseas that were clearly tampered with by U.S. Customs.. It appears that they do most of my teas all of the freaking time!

I order most of my tea from overseas, and lots of it. I don't think I've ever had my tea tampered with, at least there didn't seem to be any indication.

Customs hasn't unpacked any of my orders yet. But keep in mind we are probably talking about two different countries of origin. I wonder if a package from China is more likely to be checked by customs than one from Japan? My guess is that it is. Also, I've heard that if one name and address is receiving a large number of shipments, they might get suspicious and start checking some of the packages being delivered to that name and address (in case it is contraband of some sort).

Samples arrived, Hop! Thank you! :)

When I can track packages all the way from a foreign land...which I love to do...I have seen my packeges get hung up in customs by as many as 5 days. I remember freaking thinking they were going to open nitro flushed bags and things like that. To my surprise though, the packages always arrived completely untampered with.
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!

Before now, the longest customs ever held my Japan packages was one day. Nothing was ever tampered with. I'm with Ed in thinking that customs will be more suspicious of packages from China. As China also most likely has less strict exporting practices.
My current package is almost a week later than usual though. I believe customs is responsible. but OH WELL.

I've never had problems either, and I've ordered from both China and Japan several times. Maybe you're on some sort of watch list for your stunt on a certain set of stairs... :P

Yeah... seems like those of you that get frequent shipments from China and surrounding regions are the ones getting checked.
