Fair Trade Tea?

by Maracle » Dec 9th, '07, 10:09

Hi, im wondering if the tea from adagio is fair trade, meaning are the farmers earing a living wage, im doing a presentation about China for my World Issues class and im going to be doing a "Tea Tour of China" type thing, in my class we've been talking alot about fair trad and it would be a great tie in.
If no, then it should be, If yes then you should plaster that all over the site because i think thats a really strong selling point.

thank you

Hi, I'm fairly certain that Adagio's teas are not FTC, but I'll let them answer that.

I'm a huge advocate of Fair Trade. I know that there are fewer than five Fair Trade projects in China. In October for Fair Trade Month, I talked with Benjamin Harrison, one of the owners of Rishi Tea, about Fair Trade and China. I posted his email here: http://anotherteablog.blogspot.com/2007 ... olong.html. There's some interesting info, if you want to look at it.
