Hi everyone!
I've always loved tea but have really only been exposed to the bag variety. My husband bought me a TriniTea for Christmas, along with a sampler set, and all I can say is WOW!
I thought I didn't like green tea. But the Mandarin Green tea in the set is wonderful.
And the Earl Grey Bravo is so much better than any other Earl Grey I've had. I find that I like it better once it's cooled down, is that really odd?
Oh, my other interests are perfume and books.
Looking forward to this whole new world of teas.

Books and western-style brewed tea go well together!
I don't know if you've ever considered it, but if ever you get the chance, there's a huge gathering of perfume professionals in Istanbul every year. They go to show new scents, sell some raw ingredients and what may most entice you, sell samples of otherwise incredibly expensive scents! Of course, there is also a ton to do there otherwise, so it wouldn't just be for the perfume.

I would love to go to Istanbul, to see Topkapi Palace and the Golden Horn, where they placed the chain across the Bosphorus and also where they are going to build Leonardo Da Vinci's bridge, so many sights to see. And the perfume too! One day, when I win the lottery I will make the trip.....

If you like tea and books, find anything by James Norwood Pratt. He is an excellent author and authority on tea, probably the foremost that I have come across.
Read his 'Tea Lover's Companion' and 'Tea Lover's Treasury.' Also, I believe he wrote a travel book on tea, but I cannot find it online at the moment.
(edit: reread something by Norwood Pratt, and I suppose he is an expert on Black tea's, but not really on Greens, at least in his early days- Oh well! His books are still good reads and quite edifying)

Hi GalileosDaughter. I'm a newbie too, as well as a book lover. There's an interesting little book called "A Decent Cup of Tea" by Malachi McCormick which you might find amusing. I'm so glad you are here! Only using teabags is like never trying niche!! Girl, you need to branch out! Just like in perfumes, you think you can't love a chypre then one comes along. It's the same here. I didn't think I could love green, all the ones I tasted before tasted like grass. It's a whole new glorious world!
