Blame padre if this is the wrong place.
I'm curious how much caffeine is in a 4 oz cup of miyabi, or a cup of jasmine tea, compared to the same amount of soda. Does anyone have any ideas?

Here is some info:

[Mary's Edit: According to that list, tea (brewed) has 5.88 mg/oz, tea (green) has 3.13 mg/oz, and Coca-Cola Classic has 2.88 mg/oz. A can of coke has 12 oz, which would be more caffeine per serving than the 4 oz tea.]

Either that, or you drink so much of it you're immune to it's effects! I get a little hoppin' from sencha, but it's that tranquil zen focus sort of alertness. I think Chip's the one who said "you could watch paint dry" with it. It's like that...you've got the alertness to notice stuff, but the calm and the focus to be interested by it for a sustained period of time...
Or I'm just nuts. Whatev.

In case anyone is interested in the "decaffeinating by throwing away the first steep" myth (sorry tenuki, I wanted to respond in the TeaDay thread, but it is now locked), please note that they are talking about 5 minute long steeps. I refer you to this article posted about the same study (and another study).tenuki wrote:http://www.nobleharbor.com/tea/caffiene.html
