What say ye?

Consider both operations to be as big or as small as you would like.

This one would prefer his own shop. I don't have the "green thumb" as it were.

It would be very antique looking. Lots of room for display and very warmly decorated and lit. Not too Victorian, but just enough to be elegant without being tacky. It would have a back room for parties/tastings of course, and a small little room styled asian for those that prefer a more zen atmosphere.

Any food served would be made from scratch in the shop, and any thing I could get local I would.

Though I would want it to make it a tea shop primarily, I've always loved the name "Golden Dawn Bakery."

I think I'm in the wrong business.

I'd say my own shop, if I could have it my way: sort of like the Black Sun in Snowcrash, to the extent that it can accomodate all styles of tea for all customers. Oh, and there'd be a very capable bouncer staff for anyone trying to stir trouble in stead of tea.

edit: And only I get access to the basement.

Selling tea to Americans sucks ass. I'd have my own shop if I had money to burn and didn't have to wrorry about turning a profit.

I like the city and I like tea so unless you're talking about steamrollering all my neighbours houses into the ground for a tea field I'm voting for the tea shop.

If you don't care too much about my neighbours, or are high up in the council, then can I have both?

I've just moved into a house with large garden and greenhouse. I think I'm all set as I've just found a very large tea seed type thing in the pu-erh I'm drinking. All I need to do now is start charging the folks who drink tea in my house.

I'd love to have a tea farm. If I had a Japanese uncle (don't laugh:P) and he passed his tea farm to me, I wouldn't hesitate to go give it a shot.

I picked shop. Let's just say this soft body isn't made for farming. 8)

Seriously though, a tea shop would be awesome.

I wasn't raised by worthless beatniks for nothing...tea farm all the way. Sustainable agriculture. Woo.

The sad thing is, I'm only half kidding. I like growing things.

I'll have you know that his successor, Neville, is still going strong!

Of course, I actually paid for Neville, so I've got an investment to protect...

Odd question. I would rather have both. Really. But I had to pick one, so I copped out and picked the easier of the two -- the teashop.

That's kind of what I did. Of course, my shop would have in every sunny place, a cup-shaped planter with a c. sinensis plant.

I grew up in farm country, so I have no romantic notions about farming being fun. Tea shop in a major city with enough operating capital that I could just sit out with the customers and chat all day. You are all invited the moment this dream comes true for me.

GOSH that question was so hard to answer as I would love to do both. However, after thougtful consideration, I believe being a tea merchant would be awesome as you make more friends. Farming is hard work! :P
