Well I went camping last weekend. It was fun. I got lost on their crazy nature trail though, but I made it through okay. Had some good tea (gongfu and gaiwan brews), good wine (take that, rangers), and good times.
Why should you care, you ask? Well, I took some neat pics, that's why....jerk.

Why is the wine so much of a 'take that' to the rangers?

And they inspire another two questions:
1.) Is it *really* camping if you still get a cell signal? >:D (I'm joking)
2.) The bricks for camp fire containment: Were they provided? If not, did you have to pack them on your back? (I hope not ... that's almost unnecessary weight, considering there are many good ways to contain a fire -- or so I hear)

1) Well, it wasn't a hike into the wilderness, just camping in a reserve. But I did only have 1 bar...if that makes me any more of a survivalist...

2) yeah the bricks were a *BOO* to lug to the campsite...
hehe nah just kidding...i guess some previous campers had done the lugging for me. They were there when I got there.

Well, I don't Gongfu in the woods, but tea is definitely on my packing list when I go camping. I tend to drink a lot of mate. Nice pics, and YAY for stickin' it to the rangers (wine around the campfire!!! wooohooo!!!!). I also like that you have your cell phone right next to your camp stove.

Yah I don't exactly rough it to the max or anything, but I can see why some like to do so, and I do have a friend that enjoys that kind of camping. Still better than my other friend who suggested just "camping in [his] backyard." lol. That would have been a very uninspiring event...padre wrote: That makes me want to go do the exact same thing.
