tea day
My most expensive tea arrived in the mail yesterday. Sencha Kenjyo from the Tao of Tea at $18/oz. I haven't tried it yet, but I sure hope it's good.
I haven't bought any expensive tea--just buying tea from adagio mostly, and samples from dragonwater, dens, teacuppa, etc.
However, I do plan on buying slightly more expensive sencha and gyokuro once I'm through all my samples.
This morning I am drinking raspberry green that my husband bought from Wegmans.
Leaving now to pick up my dog. Planning to quickly brew some sencha for the car ride.

The most expensive tea I have purchased was Den's Fukamushi Sencha Maki. It goes for $11 for 56g or about $19.64 for 100g when you do the math. It is an awesome tea, very flavorful with little astringency and definitely worth the price. I ended up making some as my first tea of the day thanks to the poll.

I have been trying to think of expensive teas I have purchases over the years, but I don't think I have been too crazy. I almost jumped on the Pu-erh train many times which may have caused me to sell my house and live in my car, but then how would I boil water? I have not gone crazy with matcha either...so far.
I guess a few Long Jings and Gyokuros have been in the 40-60 range. I was looking on the Maiko site, they have some insanely expensive gyokuro.
Drinking the 5th steep of my first tea today! It is a catch all of left over senchas...it is ok, nothing too exciting.
I am going to stay with greens today, a lot of sick people everywhere around me. If I do not get sick, I might write a book, sell miracle tea, and get rich. Ever since I have been drinking mainly Japanese greens, I have not gotten truly sick. I swear the tea has something to do with it.
