It might be preferable to start a new topic for chinese greens?
Good idea...anyone want to host that like Scruff is for Japanese.

I think what Scruff wants to do here is have all the links ultimately in his prelim post which will be super convenient.

If someone wants to take that on for Chinese greens, that would be great.

I have a huge bookmarked list of online tea vendors and was going through them all to see who had what for shincha in hopes of finding some nice fresh sencha. That pretty much failed so far since the Japanese green tea vendors did not have 2008 senchas or expected dates up yet for when they would be out except for the ones already listed. All I managed to find was Chinese green teas. To be honest, the only Chinese green teas that I have tried have been Adagio sample tins and a Dragonwell at the Teaosk in the mall, but I figured those who enjoy Chinese greens might like what I did find.

CK, would you be willing to host the Chinese "shincha" section. I can simply split this topic having your post first with all the links so you would not have to do them over again.

Please let me know...thanx.
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!

Since I started it, sure. I don't know all the Chinese tea vendors, but I will find what I can on it. I can just edit my post and copy it to a new one if you want me to.

I've got 7 first flush Chinese greens on the way, and I can't wait to start sipping. 8)

I have tasted three new greens from TeaSpring and would be willing to post some simple notes about my experience with them. I had all three teas last spring as well. They are
  • Xu Fu Long Ya
    Emperor Long Jing
    Meng Ding Gan Lu
While I very much enjoyed all three of these teas, none of them are among my favorite greens. More of my favs come later in the spring, but I probably won't be ordering more Chinese greens till the first crop is over because I've accidentally become very involved in oolongs for the moment -- and Sencha. I am also coming to think that maybe the earliest flush of Chinese greens produces tea that is lighter in flavor than what I most like.

I ordered 25-50 grams each of every first flush green or yellow they had.

I've been sucking down (from Teaspring) Lion Long Jing and Meng Ding Huang Ya. The rest of 'em are in cold storage.
