I have some powered sencha but use it exclusively for cooking.

I **love** o-cha.com, but the powdered sencha is the one thing I would not recommend. It is economical and fresh, but not their best-tasting product. Of course, I wouldn't expect all that much from a powdered sencha normally anyway.

The Rishi Sencha Sticks (available at Whole Foods) are the best powdered sencha I've had, but much more expensive because they are individually wrapped. Here are links:

9.6 grams for $8 at Rishi.

30 grams for $8 at Den's. :?

100 grams for $11 at O-cha! :D

I've been avidly drinking the Den's powdered sencha, and 30 grams goes a lot further than it might sound (maybe I just ration). Although, with that deal at O-cha, I'm going to have to indulge myself with some when I order shincha.

That's what I do with my matcha. Just make sure the lid is all the way closed or it will absorb moisture and odour just like baking soda will in the refrigerator. I know this because someone left the lid half open with mine. *glares*

so this finally came today and i used a teaspoon or a little more in a 16 oz bottle of water. i didn't experience any of the bitterness i was warned about. none at all actually. definitely worth buying for a quick tea fix in the morning

i'm gonna see how it works in shakes :D

So, how did it work in a shake?
How did you decide to store it?

in that pic not all of it actually dissolved. i ended up discovering some at the bottom and added more water. i think it works better in water bottles so you can just shake it all up

Yes, that's how I have used the Den's product, in a water bottle and just shaking it occasionally. It's such an easy way to have some kind of tea available in venus like meetings or theme parks where bottled water is available, but the stuff that makes water worth drinking is NOT available.
