Hi tea lovers,
the other day I read a thread in the Snuff (smokeless tobacco that is) forum where people talked about who loved a cup of tea with there snuff and what kind of tea.
Since I love a cup myself I started browsing for a tea forum and found this one.
Being reading for a few days and was amazed, so much information! I never really give it much thought, just put some tea in a pot add boiling water and a bit later I had myself some tea.
I have now started to measure the tea, add water of the right temperature and brew for a certain amount of time. What a improvement in taste!
So far I only used the common supermarket tea's available to me. And I have some from the Asian market that I prefer:
Kwong Sang - Chun Mee Tea
Ujinotsuyu Aoyanagi Japanese Bancha Green Tea (my favorite so far)
I'm gathering more info here and will buy some other tea's and teaware in the near future, not a lot of choice here in Belgium I'm afraid.

For the curious ones: I'm 50, married to a dutch lady, in the military, I enjoy training dogs (Belgian Ring), Siamese and Abessinian cats, tobacco snuff, country music and I have fallen in love with my iMac (after almost 30 years of using a pc).

About tobacco snuff, do snuff-takers frequently take tea at the same time as they enjoy their snuff? (In the same way that cigarette smokers often like to smoke a cigarette as they drink their coffee?)
Forgive the naivete of the question. I don't smoke or take snuff, so I always wonder about these things

I'm working myself true the archive of all sub forums right now, once that is done I'll surely visit TeaDay Salsero. Yes I'm in the military, have been since I graduated from school, first joined the special forces and now I'm a dog trainer/handler (to old for the macho stuff now).
I didn't find many people from Belgium and surrounding country's here. I'm amazed, Belgium is not really a tea drinking country but the Netherlands are very much so, lots of immigrants there from tea drinking country's and the dutch people drink tea in great quantity themselves. I've searched for online tea shops in Europe but so far not much luck.
Chamekke, I do often take tea when I enjoy a pinch of snuff and so do many others, we are even trying to convince a UK snuff grinder to make us some tea flavored snuff I've used tobacco snuff for over 30 years and tried some 350 different ones. Strange thing is that in all those years I only seen a handful of people who use it around me. All others are just names from people on the internet that I never met in real live.
Now that I come to learn a lot more about tea thanks to TeaChat I see lots of similarity's between tea and snuff use. With snuff it's not so much about Nicotine but more about aroma, not so much about taking great quantity's but enjoying the finer side of it all, to many that also includes a kind of ceremony involving antique silver snuffboxes, how you take it, taste it, etc .... and if you combine that with tea (or for others it might be coffee or a stronger beverage) it doubles the pleasure.
It might become more popular as in europe the smoking ban is omnipresent, people might use more smokeless tobacco in the form of snuff or snuss (oral tobacco, not chew). That could be a good thing or bad, as soon as something becomes popular the government raises the taxes on it or some organization that want to watch over our health tries to forbid it.
