Ahhhhh, whiskey and tea.... makes me nostalgic. When I was a kid, that was a home remedy concoction for cough/cold, affectionately referred to as a "hot toddy".... strong brewed black tea, alittle whiskey, sugar, and lemon. I remember loving it, and it always worked like a charm when I was coughing my head off.

Come to think of it, a lot of my dad's remedies included alcohol. But that one was the most scarring.

A spot of water in a single malt is needed to help open it up, that's what my dad used to tell me.
He was only half right. What is actually needed for single malt is a drop or two of cooled tea, the tough bit is which tea? Laphroig and long jing works well, Aberlour and yunnan gold were also made to be together.
I had some lovely Japanese malt recently, I should really have sorted out a few drops of sencha for it - oh well there's always next time.
