Looks great, Now the question is: which one of us will drop 248 on it?

I have my money on the guy with 9 kyusus. Britt, I thought you already ordered it and were gonna make a video once it shipped... that is,until I saw the link.

Can't wait to see this thing in action!

Tempting. But I want to see the video first...

Fortunately I'm safe; I've never been fond of his black glazes.

I have a couple of his kyusu in the dark colors (Yohen) but I think I prefer the Mogake and Sujihiki. I bought one of the Yohen because I liked the shape of it; tall cylinder shaped kyusu, bottom left on Yamadera (Hokujo page 1).

I don't drink iced sencha often, but if this set was offered in the Mogake, I would have had to fight myself not to buy it.

FYI Hokujo makes matcha chawan in Yohen (the color you don't like) and Yakishime (I think you have a yuzamashi like this). I've seen pictures of the Yohen but not the Yakishime. I don't know if Toru will carry them or not.

I seriously considered buying it this morning when I first saw it, but I don't drink iced tea that often and I don't have the space to store it. I'd clear out another shelf except there aren't any left to clear unless I throw the Yixings in storage; I don't use most of them.

Now you've got me thinking about it!

I love it, but alas, it is a very expensive unitasker.
Not this time, Mr. Genji.

I'm not getting it, but that was pretty cool to watch Hokujo brew tea in his own kiln.

Mr. Alton Brown would be so proud of you. :)

Also, that video was pretty cool. There were two things in particular I thought were interesting:

1. D**n, he used a lot of leaf.
2. His movements are much less delicate than I thought they would be. Very deliberate, though.

Now that I've seen the video, it is still tempting me. I agree with Britt: if this were in Mogake, I wouldn't hesitate to have it in my collection.

I love the darker glaze, non-standard handle, and overall design.

But no, my tea-ware collection is rather complete at the moment. Must exercise Zen-spirited restraint and minimalism Image
