Yesterday, more TeaChatters than I expected had teaware cleanliness issues. You can still vote and discuss this topic.
Welcome one and all to Fanatical Thursday. Let's brew and share what is in our cups today...all day.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic is how we prefer our cups. Many of us are pretty particular about certain features in a cup...others of us are not. How fanatical are you about this..and what features reign supreme for your teacups. Please share.
I am truly looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up, refill, repeat often...

Ooh... too difficult.
But I picked "MATERIAL and TEXTURE...TOUCH" - just because, if I had to select one unifying theme among all the cups I own, that would be the one.
In my cup... some Taiwanese mountain oo--
--ps.

I'd drink out of a cracked barbie coffee mug if it had good tea in it.
Finishing my day with some Shoyeido Oboro incense , the middle infusions of this perfect Menghai 7572 puerh, some Chopin (Maurizio Pollini, Nocturnes 2 disk set, Deutsche Grammophon) and a nice collection of post cyberpunk short stories.

Yes, I am sure you would if you had to, but you obviously would not prefer to given your penchant for some mighty fine teaware as documented under Show off Your Pots and CUPS.

My primary criteria so far has been... what's' clean in the cabinet? If the dishwasher has been run and emptied, then I have to decide on my mood... Grumpy? Tinkerbell? Mickey? Donald? I must confess my large Tigger cup usually wins out... he just makes me smile!
But... all these beautiful pictures have given me teacup lust. Maybe in Dallas I'll find something I *need*.
What I need now is some decent tea. I am traveling, and spent the night in a less than fabulous La Quinta in Nashville last night (everything was super-booked)... and am hopping a flight to Dallas in a few hours. I woke up with bad-hotel headache, made worse by my lack of good tea. All my tea-making goodies are packed in my big suitcase which I won't bring into this place. So, I have a few bags of Twinings Irish Breakfast in my carry-on and I am hoping they have hot water down in the lobby. Last night I all had was McDonald's sweet tea, which I used to love and now find alittle revolting... just not as revolting as Diet Coke.
Have a great day!

***This organic blend is earthy & spicy, with a fragrant aroma & smooth flavor to captivate the senses. Naturally sweetened in the Kentucky sunshine & infused with natural energy. Equally delicious when served piping hot or crisply chilled.***
Shape, for me. I like the cups somewhat triangular-shaped. I once had a lovely blue mug whose rim curled inward. A thing of beauty, and utterly impossible to drink from without dribbling. Bah. It serves as a sugar bowl now.
Size is importnat--no soup bowls for mugs. No itty-bitty cups, either.
Color--white on the inside, or clear.
Weight is important--I don't like heavy cups.
