ridiculous prices - who would spend money here?

I just came across a tea shop - and could not believe the prices. 160 $ for the yame gyokuro 3.5 oz...WOW!!!....I guess this is where you spend your money when you star in a hit movie or win a 400 million dollar lottery - or if you are a CEO and have robbed an average citizen of his life's savings....just click on the link...gotta see this...

and now everything is explained...you see - its the royalty selling teas - and thus the 99.999 % of the price goes towards royalty.....

Only Beverly Hills would fall for this stuff...I mean - does anyone in their right mind believe this?

LOL, just as an FYI some of those prices are well over 2x. I have the chirashi and sansui chawans, and i paid well under 1/3 what they're asking for it.

i'm a bit curious if the same shop has the Frost on a meadow chawan as well. I'll have to check next time i'm there.

Well, here's two of them at a bit of a discount. Apparently the designer is Tampopo, Japan. Maybe our Japanese friends could find a bigger selection cheaper. I have to say, Le Palais has better photos.

(WARNING: Victoria had better not look at this link ... too much glass. Her head will explode.)

You ain't lying! We carry a particular product in our store that's also sold on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills & another that's sold at the Venetian Hotel's gift shop. Our prices are less than half of what they charge for the exact same items! Sometimes where you sell your mdse determines what you price it.

Now if somebody can find these at a decent price, LMK!!! :D

Yes, I think I might be able to tumble for one or two of those depending on the size, the price, and my then-current level of crazy.

I don't believe that they're Salviati. Salviati from what I have seen is deeply etched (part of what makes it so amazing) whereas these look frosted.

I believe the Salsero also found them from another vendor citing them as being from a designer called Tampopo.
