Tea Desktop Wallpaper

by Thirsty Daruma » Aug 16th, '08, 23:42

It was an absolutely gorgeous day today. Almost purely rain and oppressive clouds. For me there's no better weather for tea. Drank 72 oz. over the course of the day. I feel like I'm an inch away from tea nirvana (like that one Futurama episode...)

So I sat down and in between sips had tea on my mind. And I thought, "Wouldn't it be dandy if I had tea on my desktop?" I've looked around for tea themed wallpapers, almost all of them photography. There were a few pieces on DeviantArt, and I remember somebody here had a page on their blog for wallpapers, but I've used those in the past. I've got a few myself but exhausted those too. I'd much prefer fresh images. Does anybody have any good tea themed wallpaper or, better yet, high resolution tea photography that would make a good, minimalist picture for my desktop? Consider it a digital obeisance to that life giving drink.

If you want any of mine, have at it. My flickr is in my www link at the bottom of my posts. Most of my images, if you hit "all sizes," are at least 1200xwhatever, if not 1600xwhatever. All of my tea images are collected in a folder on the right side of the linked page.

I have been thinking about this too. I have snagged quite a few favorites right from TeaDay. I have been thinking how we could have a thread of them. Maybe it's fine to grab them as they come along.
:)

Thanks for the link, brandon. If any of you would prefer un-marked (no url) images, let me know.

Salsero's gorgeous still-life compositions on TeaDay also make superb wallpapers, especially the landscape-oriented ones. I've snarfled a whole bunch from there.

We are really lucky to have gifted photographers like Salsero and Geekgirl on this forum. I can't begin to say how much I've enjoyed their tea photos.

WOW! Nice avatars! Sometimes it's a PITA to get a picture to POP! when it's only 100x100 pixels, but these are great.

Working in miniature is an art of its own, but sometimes I think a test of any photo is whether it impresses me as thumbnail.

I just add a text snippet through photoshop (most photo editors can do this, I imagine), then rotate it. Sometimes I give it some transparency if the text is too obnoxious.

Thanks for the correction. My poor old brain was unable to recall the usernames of the other great photographers we see on here
