Saturday Tearoom TeaDay 8/23/08 Sipping tea to music?

by Chip » Aug 23rd, '08, 02:45

Gotta love IE, shut down right after I finished Saturday's TeaDay. Lost it all.

Yesterday's topic was a little challenging, but many TeaChatters were open to the Fair Trade Cert. concept. You can still vote and discuss this topic.

Today's teaDay will be TeaRoom style, lighter topic to relax and discuss. So, everyone is welcome to share their TeaDay with all of us. Let's brew and share what is in our cups today, all day!

Today's TeaRoom TeaDay poll and discussion topic is musical. Do you enjoy sipping and listening to music? Yes, no, maybe? If yes, please share what kind of music you enjoy with your tea.

I am looking forward to sharing our TeaRoom with everyone today. Bottoms up!

absolutely. i have music on every possible waking moment and that certainly includes while drinking tea. i listen to every type of music. when drinking tea, the most common music is: experimental, industrial, folk, indian, classical, or ambient. i usually go for nostalgic music.

I very often listen to music. I very often drink tea.
So I quite often listen to music when drinking tea and vice versa.

This morning nothing yet. Yunnan golden tips soon I guess.

Almost never do I do the two together. I'm a 70's Country/Rock fan, though. Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker Band, John Denver, Johnny PayCheck, DAC, Freddy Fender, etc. 8)

Getting hammered tonight at work by Fay (thanks Salsero for sending it North). :x

Yeah I always listen to music when drinking tea. Use classical, jazz, ambient or traditional Japanese music for that. Normally I listen to pretty much every genre, except "pop" and rap (a few exceptions).

Will have Yutaka Midori first today, and I will use Katsuya Yokoyama who is playing the shakuhachi (traditional Japanese flute) as music :)

I would gladly take some of that rain Southeasterners. My yard is so dry I had a dream last night about watering it. It was probably my grass screaming "help" at me in my sleep.

I used to listen to music while drinking tea at my last job (jazz or alternative). However, I worked alone much of the time and brought in my ipod and plugged it into the "sound system".

When I am home alone, I usually drink tea and turn everything OFF to enjoy silence while I can. My MP3 player contains some jazz/classical, alternative, classic rock from the 70-80's, and a few smokin' 70's disco tunes for balance.

Right now I need coffee until I can think straight. Going to be a iced gunpowder day.

Omegapd--good luck with Fay this evening!

I voted for indifference. If music's on, I'll listen while drinking tea, of course. I just am not often listening to music when I get to my brewing--usually at work.

In the cup: Bolivian Black to help wake me up.

I never listen to music when having tea, its not that I dont like music but rather, tea time is a time to relax and go to a peaceful mindset of tranquility, I find that the music that I listen to disturbs this. I mostly listen to classic rock.

Haven t had tea since Monday because of my wisdom teeth being taken out on Tuesday, so my mouth is watering for a nice pot.

Here augie, you can have some of the torrential downpour we're expecting this evening. {hands over some darkening storm clouds}

I do listen to music sometimes when drinking tea, but it has to be music that allows for semi-quiet contemplation. Currently I'm listening to worldbeat-y fusion-y stuff, e.g. IndoCelt and Delhi 2 Dublin.

In my cup, nothing, because I have to run to tea class. But soon, in my future... some matcha, made by a fellow student!

As for music, I hadn't thought of it, but every now and then I will put on some Bach while I have my morning tea.

Also, I DJ electronic music a bit, and if I'm recording a set I will brew up a nice cuppa to give things a little energy Image
