I hope everyone's Labor Day weekend is going great. A virtual dead heat exists between black, oolong, and green in yesterday's voting for TeaChatters' fave tea for the month of August!!! You can still vote and discuss this topic.
Welcome everyone to TeaDay. I hope you will share what is in your cup through out the day today, all day.
Can you believe it, It is virtually September, and Summer is almost over. Today's TEAROOM TeaDay poll and discussion topic. I just finished off a few bags of tea, so I will get to open a few! Lady Tiger asked many moons ago, "how does finishing off a tea make you feel?" Yeah, tough question, let's say you liked the tea in order to simplify this. Please share.
I am looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

Teaware 1
Just recently I got most of my teaware organized into two castoff cabinets. The top half has shelves to display stuff, the bottom half has drawers and shelves to hide more teaware, TeaPhoto equipment, boxes, a little tea, and junque. This is the left one, tomorrow the right one. Needless to say, you are invited to clique if you like to snoop.

Nice pic salsero. Thanks for giving the option for a closer look. You have some really beautiful cups there!
Hmmm.... When I finish my last bag of shincha for the season I usually get all nostalgic and can't wait for next spring to roll around!
When I finish a bag of something I wasn't crazy about but felt obligated to finish, I definitely feel some releif and I feel much better about opening a new bag of something new that was in queue.
When I finish a bag of something really good, chances are that there is another bag of the same thing close by ready to be opened or it's on order

Typically, I feel a little sad the tea is gone. Hopefully I remembered to reorder.
Salsero, nice collection! Must feel good to have them all in one place. Can't wait to see the other side. BUT now you are going to have to tell us the story of the clown....please? (Hope it's a *nice* story or I won't sleep.)
This morning is off to an early start thanks to our doggy. Yunnan Gold in my cup!

Finishing a bag of tea is a mix of the different options the way I see it. I finished my Gyokuro yume no ukihashi today (or drinking the the last of it now
). First feeling was "I better order some more of this", but also a sense of accomplishment, not in the "I'm glad I'm done with this" feeling, but more reminiscence of all the nice cups of tea that bag has made me.
As I already said, currently having Gyokuro Yume no ukihashi, accompanied by the magic music from Miles Davis' *BOO* brew sessions

I usually feel a sense of accompishment when I finish off a tea. It just feels good to know that you really enjoyed it enough to stick to it and finish it through. When I end up trading tea or, if it's really bad that I don't anyone else to taste it, throw a tea away I feel empty.
This morning I had a wonderful cup of Irish Breakfast with half and half and a little sweetener, because it's just really good that way, with my scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, and toast. It was marvlous. Later today I'll probably be trying my tangerine flavored black tea as an iced tea, I'm looking forward to that one.
Today I'm going into town...again because my mother doesn't want to stay home today. I'm still recovering from Friday's shopping trip. Tomorrow I'll be making apple muffins to take to 'prision' with me maybe I'll try matching them up with a tea and steep it in the liquid hehe.

Re: Teaware 1
If you left out the clown doll, the cabinet would have looked like an buddhist altar, especially with the 2 cups in front the picture on the top shelf. Looks very calming and serene. I hope the plexiglass shelf where the cups and saucers rest doesn't give way, looking at it, it seems bent in the middle?Salsero wrote:Just recently I got most of my teaware organized into two castoff cabinets.
