Monday TeaDay 9/15/08 Teaware CRAVE FACTOR?

by Chip » Sep 15th, '08, 00:45

Welcome to a Monday edition of TeaDay. I don't know about you, but I will be craving extra tea all day today. Shall we brew and share what is in our cups today, all day?

Yesterday, 2 out of 3 TeaChatters indicated they had at least one reputable local tea vendor. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic is revisiting the CRAVE FACTOR, this time for teaware in general. What is your personal crave factor for teaware?

I am as always craving the sharing of TeaDay with everyone today. Bottoms up!

Ok, most of you know I have a SERIOUS teaware CRAVE factor!!

I'm pretty much out of control, but hey I'm a still kind of a newbie and I need STUFF!
Apparently lots of STUFF!

Anyway it's fun and I'm having a good time and really enjoying my teas in a whole new way.

Teaware is so much a part of the whole experience.

I voted 8. I am quite reasonable with my teaware purchases.

I found this interesting Yunnan tea among Dizzwave’s contributions to the Puerh Box Pass. I swear the dry leaves look like little scaly fish, dried shrimp, trout flies, grasshopper exoskeletons, or even tiny rabbits' feet.

Oh man, I can't get enough teaware. 10 for sure. I also thought I'd post a tea pic today. Conveniently enough it features one of my favorite teaware pieces, my aohagi chawan by Yamane Seigan.

Those leaves do look a little too much like tiny fish! They remind me of the little dried fish you can get at the asian food market. I definately crave teaware but until I find a better job, I'm stuck with drooling over all of the lovely pictures on here

I voted 9 because I think beautiful teaware really adds to the whole experience of drinking (and brewing) tea, but the absence of teaware doesn't stop me from enjoying a cup of good tea.

I've got a craving for teawares, yes indeed. Perhaps it should be called an addiction.

While I'd like to say that I can enjoy my tea just as much out of a chipped mug, the truth is that for me, the vessel enhances the experience tremendously.

I've been bad lately. Four new pots, and a new cup on the way. Much more in the near future. Most of my spare time lately has been spent on the internet looking for new teawares. Its becoming an addiction.

Also, I'm seriously thinking of stealing Victorias latest addition.

Currently in the cup ~ 2008 Xiaguan Golden 8100 raw pu-erh.

I voted 10, because I'm always on the lookout for new teaware to go along with new teas...I started out with Chinese teas, and as I look over to trying Sencha or Matcha...looks like I need a Kyushu and Matcha equipment to go along with it...
when coming back from Taiwan my Gaiwan (hey that kinda rhymes) broke so I need to replace that soon too...(so much to buy!)
enjoying a nice bai mu dan, since I felt bad that nobody was really drinking white tea on white tea day a few days ago....

Voted a 5 on this for the simple reason that there are many pretties I covet and drool over, but the bank account tells me I must limit myself to the bare necessities- a tea kettle, a pot, and a couple of nice cups with saucers.

Ah well, maybe in my next life!

I LOVE TEAWARE!!!!!!!!!!

Luckily, the lack of space in my house keeps me from going overboard :D

Farmer's shincha this AM. I had some matcha yesterday and I think I may have another bowl before taking off for work.

Hey'all,

I'm new to the vast world of tea. I grew up drinking tea with my great granddad, grandmother, and mom, but it has only been within the last year that I've found loose tea! Although it's not really a "tea", I'm having a soothing cuppa chamomile from my cute 2 cup tea pot (I worked the graveyard last night)! I have a collection of Hall Aladin teapots, but alas no pretty cups and saucers to go with them. I'm working on it!!

I look forward to learning more about tea from you; have a great day all.

LOL@note; that's cute. BTW, beautiful photo! Sal, beautiful as always too :)

My craving for tea ware is certainly high since I still a newbie. So everything is like candy to me, they all look so sweeeeet!

This morning was a disappointing one, tea-wise, because I ran out of the house late for work and didn't bring any of my tea stuff with me. So now, I'm drinking tea left over in my desk which is bagged. In my cup now is a Guayaki Yerba Mate tea bag. I miss my little teas at home; I bet they miss me too
