Friday TeaDay TeaDay 9/26/08 International Kyusu Day

by Chip » Sep 26th, '08, 01:33

Welcome everyone to FRIDAY's TeaDay. Here is hoping we can all share what is in our cups today, all day!

Yesterday, on International Gaiwan Day, a surprising 65% or responders indicated they owned at least one gaiwan, and others wanted one. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Coincidentally, today is International Kyusu Day. So, naturally today's TeaPoll and discussion topic is do you own a kyusu, if yes, how many? If not, do you want one? Do you have a favorite, tell us something about it if you would like to.

I am looking forward to sharing IKD and TeaDay with everyone, bottoms up.

No and no for me...

Nothing but coffee for me today. Trying to stay awake on the night shift has been hard this week...

Love my little kyuusu and really want another. It has enhanced my sencha enjoyment much the same away as the gaiwan has oolong for me.

So is it one u or two uu's? Have seen it spelled both ways.

Yunnan Gold to kick things off on this rainy Friday.

Happy TeaDay!

I have Four - I think - One Tokoname, one glass kyusu, this one and another I'm not
sure if it is a kyusu or not. So I voted 3-5, I feel so conservative for a change!

Only 2 kyusus, but I'm planning to buy at least 1 Hagi Kyusu and 1 shiboridashi, probably more with time. I love kyusus, so many styles and they can be vastly different.

Sencha Yutaka Midori. Took it up a notch, to 6g to 6,5oz water and increased the first steep time with about 10s, lovely.

No tea for me today. Have to fast for an medical exam for insurance. Blech.

Technically kyuusu because you pronounce it with a long u at the beginning and a short one at the end.

Karigane gyokuro right now.

I don't have one, but judging from the photos, you need to be right-handed to use one, which I'm not ... so I probably won't get one unless they make them left-handed.

This morning, drinking Irish Breakfast.
