Welcome everyone to TeaDay, Saturday TeaRoom style. I hope we can brew and share what is in our cups today, all day.
Yesterday was "International Kyuusu Day." 55% of responders indicated they owned at least one kyuusu. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaRoom TeaPoll is what tea do you feel MOST pairs with food. Any others? Please share.
I am looking forward to sharing the TeaRoom with everyone today! Bottoms up.

Depends upon what you're eating I suppose, though I'd say green can go with virtually anything.
Eh,.. why not bust out the SLR and give Sal a run for his money. A little photo I took of my pu-erh knives. The tulip one is brand spankin' new.

I think Tie Guan Yin makes a good pair with oily Chinese food, also its fragnant aroma seems to help rid of smell left-over in mouth.
And Japanese greens seem to work fine with Sushi or other Japanese dishes as well..

Shu Dragon
I haven't figured out how tea and food work together. I usually don't eat when I am drinking tea. Shu, however, does seem to go with any food, especially strong tasting and greasy foods. Mmmm ... maybe dragon meat and shu.

Wow, now there's a surprise!omegapd wrote:I gotta say Oolong for the majority of things I eat. With Oolong, there's a broad spectrum you can choose to go with a diverse group of food...

Trioxin that a spectacular pic! Your new tuocha pick is gorgeous! You really have an excellent eye and the patience to wait for just the right pieces. Very nice!

Black tea, hot, with breakfast. Black tea, iced, with lunch and dinner.
Drinking Yunnan Gold right now, debating what to have with it.
Tioxin, what does one do with a Pu knife?

Most of them go with food as far as I'm concerned, it's more a matter of which one to pair with certain types of food. I've tried it only once though, had Gu Zhang Mao Jian (vegetable and "rain-wet earth" aromas) with smoked and peppered mackerel with rice. That worked extremely nice together, gonna do that again soon.
Sencha Yutaka Midori now.

Have to agree w/everybody else who said this so I voted "other". I prefer black or dark oolongs w/bfast. The heartier teas pair well w/muffins & fruit. If having tea w/lunch, it's anything from a wuyi to sencha, depending on mood. Light oolongs & greens go well w/hummus & veggies or a turkey sandwich. My favorite pairing w/tea is fresh fruit & cheese (specifically black grapes & manchego). Mmmmm... Know what I'm having for lunch today!Selaphiel wrote:Most of them go with food as far as I'm concerned, it's more a matter of which one to pair with certain types of food.

Cool pics today. Trioxin, your pu-erh knives make a striking pic (& great avatar).
Oolong #8 w/bfast this morning. Have to wait til closer to lunch time to see what else lands in my cup. Have a good one!
