Welcome TeaChatters to TeaDay. I hope we can all share what is in our cups today.
Yesterday, TeaChatters indicated they for the most part did not get busted for reading TeaChat at work, but many were made to feel obsessed about tea. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
This was asked some time ago on the forum. You are marooned on an island, and you can only have one tea, what would it be? Be specific if you can. Why?
I am looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone today, bottoms up!

I am assuming one tea, as in if it's green tea, it's only one green tea.
I would go with an Uji sencha that is mid steamed.
Green tea supposedly has less caffeine than black and oolong. Thus, I could drink more of it with less of a caffeine high.
It would be kinda sad to only have one tea day after day. But, I'd take it.

Hmm, surprisingly difficult question... A gyokuro would keep one alive longer, since it has so many vitamins/minerals, and can be consumed. Yet, if there were already food and teaware on the island, then I would choose a 30 year old green puer, aged enough to enjoy, but not at its peak, so one could still enjoy its development if they survived for some time on the island. So many variables. I would not choose an oolong or a black. Good oolong is too delicate to just throw onto an island and I don't care for black. One would definitely need teaware/hot water for a puer, so a bare-bones landing would have to include a 40kg kanbitsu full of gyokuro.

This particular island is populated by a Changtai 339 Pu-erh Cake and dianthus. The spent leaves can be viewed HERE.

Oolong of course.

In my cup this morning a first flush Darjeeling from Lupicia.
I can think of others I'd rather be marooned with, but it's a nice
morning tea. The oolong catagory would always be my first tea choice.
