Tuesday TeaDay 10/14/08 TeaChat helped you how?

by Chip » Oct 13th, '08, 23:59

Welcome one and all to TeaDay. What you drink is not as important as sharing what you are drinking with us. So, please share what is in your cups today, all day.

Yesterday almost 98% of responders indicated that TeaChat helped them in their TeaJourney when they joined! That is outstanding from where I am standing ... well, sitting. That is a very high compliment to all TeaChatters. Kudos to everyone!!!

I am certainly looking forward to another interesting day on TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

First post after Chip!

I answered: Encouragement to try new teas you would not have otherwise, more diversity, a new favorite?

Until I started on Teachat, I'd never tasted Oolong... never had a decent cup of green tea, and mostly drank flavored blacks. I have a new favorites, much more diversity, and a desire to try everything!

I could easily have answered "all of the above", though.

I'm off to bed... have a great tea day, all. I will drink something fabulous in the morning. :)

Right! Let me know when this service becomes available. Like a starving Minnesotan at a Smörgåsbord, I need it!

Teachat caused me to become the victorian gentleman I am today. True story.

Teachat helped me explore new teas, brewing methods, and teaware.

Most importantly, I've met a ton of great people because of TeaChat. Hats off to all of you!

Tough one, but I finally had to vote for "Encouragement to try new teas you would not have otherwise, more diversity, a new favorite".

My friends on TeaChat have introduced me to a wider range of teas (Chinese greens and oolongs in particular!) and new brewing methods (gong fu!!) and new tea wares (gaiwan!!!).

In addition, this forum kick-started in me a renewed interest in classes of teawares that I already owned but hadn't thought that much about, namely chataku and porcelain yunomi.

So I too am lighter in the wallet than I used to be   ... but also happier :D :D

Currently enjoying some Ice Mountain Oolong from Portland's Serenity Art. Thanks Geekgirl - it's delicious!

Wow, a busy day for me and another to follow tomorrow.

TeaChat has really in some ways been all of the above. While
it may not seem that it has helped to "Narrow the TeaMenu", I think it
has actually, but only after opening the floodgates.

Based on the caveat "especially when you first joined" - I voted #2

I'd pretty much tried it all before joining, But teachat has sure helped me to find and try a better quality than I had previously been drinking. In some cases much better. My original visit, though, came about while searching for gong-fu brewing tips.

Currently drinking a Dong Ding from Floating Leaves Tea.

I'd say all of the above, except the narrow focus one. Encouragement to try new teas I would not have otherwise is probably the one that strikes closest to home.

Without a photo from Sal, my night just doesn't seem like its ending the way it should.

I thought I understood tea.

Teachat has shown me the error of my ways.

I still have about 4000 teas left to try before I can die happy.

In my cup: TKY (I bought a surplus so I'm drinking it a lot these days)

Haha! Yes, TeaChat has given me the teaware cootie! (I've been so good recently, might be time to break loose a little.)

Also it helped me to better understand my "mushis." "More steam please, sir!"

Happy TeaDay all!

Encouragement and knowledge

"Encouragement to try new teas you would not have otherwise, more diversity, a new favorite?"

My pu is in the mail, but there's absolutely no way I would've figured out what to get without you guys. I'll let you know when it comes in.

Currently drinking Ali San Oolong from Harney's before a crazy day at work. Columbus Day basically ransacked the store.
