Big announcement coming Friday! Stayed tuned. We will rock you!
Welcome to the best TeaDay yet, the one to come, today. Please share what is in your cup today, all day!
Yesterday's TeaPoll and discussion was very interesting as usual. It appears, new members whose favorite tea was black when they joined had a better chance to change than someone joining who drank oolong, green or pu-erh. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Your TeaChat TeaJourney continues another day. Soon after you joined TeaChat, did your teaware preference change dramatically, somewhat, maybe, probably not, definitely not. Change could be size, style or whatever.
I am looking forward to sharing everyone's TeaJourney on TeaDay today. Bottoms up.
O-cha o itadakimasu.

I owned absolutely no teaware at all other than coffee mugs before I joined teachat. I'd say that is a pretty drastic change
. I've since bought real tea cups, several infusers, fillable tea bags, tea makers, a glass teapot, a gaiwan and a yixing. Drinking some Papaya Ginger from Teaguys. It a white/green mix, mighty tasty.

Yes, dramatically! I went from thinking all I ever needed was an IngenuiTea, to a Teaware addict!

I used to use yixing and gaiwan, which I still do. What's changed though is how I approach each one. I now have a preference for smaller yixing which suits my gong-fu purposes. I've also developed an intrigue with tokoname and chawan which I'll actually start getting into once I've had enough experience with Chinese/Taiwan teas...
So, I guess you can say that my teaware preferences haven't changed much but I've also developed interests in other kinds of teaware
I'm looking forward to what this big news is, and I'll be staying in tune tomorrow night for the announcement

Genmaicha Matcha IRI
Not really ... not until a year or so after joining when I gave in and lept into the whole different world of Japanese teas ... like Genmaicha...
(Thanks to Orguz for the cool fish scoop ... er tea scoop.)

*******edit**********
I have edited the Genmaicha for radioactivity. Full roentgen tea may still be viewed by clicking on the photo.

I just started and haven't 'changed' yet per say but I deffinitly will be looking into different tea ware. A lot being that I didn't know what was out there.
In my cup: 'Earthly Pleasure' - my black flavored blend

My tastes are definitely changing. My 32oz teapot and 14oz mugs are seeming too huge, and this weekend I'll be hunting for a 12-16oz pot and 4oz cups. I drink a lot of tea, but my mugs make me feel rushed to drink it all before it goes cold. I don't like that. I'd rather have lots of small servings than a couple of big ones.
That said, I hope I don't turn into Victoria. (Teasing!) I think teaware is pretty, but I really don't need to start a collection!
I am looking forward to shopping for my small pot and cups, though. I just hope one of the Asian markets has what I want...
I went to bed early and now can't get back to sleep. My DH wanted tea, too, so we're having a little Irish breakfast, I have to be up in two hours, anyway, so I might as well stay up and start on the caffeine...

Had to vote "no." I already had excellent taste, if I may say so myself.
Though it has nothing to do with tea, it has something to do with the Japanese, and they're all about tea, and mostly watching it completely made my morning, so I decided to share it: http://www.hulu.com/watch/20337/saturda ... ese-office

Shortly before joining I went from having mostly just english teapots and cups to getting a zojirushi and using a kyusu or a gaiwan and a plethora of mismatched japanese teacups. As I'm getting interested in puerh and oolongs I've purchased a yixing pot and a gongfu sized glass pot to start brewing gongfu. I guess I've gone from brewing everything standard english style to using the wares most appropriate to the tea.
Although I do use my timolino travette for blacks still, that thing keeps tea warm all day. http://www.timolino.com/products/pce52vte.htm
No tea yet...maybe some Hao Ya B when I get to work.
