Welcome one and all to TeaDay! Please share what is in your cup today, all day!
Yesterday, responders overwhelmingly indicated support for the all new prototype TeaChat Tasting, Comparison, and Review (TC/TCR). 92% indicated they were interested in participating. That is very encouraging! You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic. See yesterday's TeaDay for a description of the program.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. TC/TCR. This will normally take place under TeaCritic, but to kick it off, let's see if we can pick our first tea. The first step is to pick a type and a selection. After this is decided and not before, we will pick around 5 specific offerings/vendors meeting specified criteria (I will offer more info on this after we agree on the first tea).
So today, I nominate Oolong, Alishan as our inaugual TCR. I do this partly because our host has a recent introduction of Alishan. I will NOT typically be nominating teas for TC/TCR in this fashion, leaving this up to the members. So, please vote on this selection and discuss if it is a good first TCR.
I am looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up!

Yes to Alishan Oolong as our inaugural TCR -
Hard to argue with that, thanks!

Yes that was gracious of the King of Green. And a nice ending to my pretty rough day which included 13 hours of work with no real lunch or break and a project so complicated it was mind-numbing. Then as I was washing out my Hagi cup, I dropped it on the floor and it broke clean in half. I just stood there in shock.
Oy.
Oy.

Tai Ping Hou Kui
Sorry no photo of Alishan sitting around.
Here is an old one from July 24th. Can't think of a better inaugural offering. Good choice, Chip!
The closest I can come today is this photo of Hou Kui, which is a green green instead of a green oolong. Thanks again to Chamekke for the cool chataku. You can see Hou Kui’s especially big and beautiful dry leaves HERE.

Salsero, I'm honoured to see the chataku appear in one of your photos ... and it's perfect with your beautiful clear glass cup! Lovely shot. Those tea leaves look soooo luscious.
And I too would be very happy to begin with the Alishan
